Swindon Domiciliary Care Assistant
CQCJOBS is recruiting a Domiciliary Care Assistant on behalf of a client in Swindon — personal care, companionship and daily living support, delivered in people's own homes with patience and consistency.
The role
This is hands-on work. You'll be in and out of people's homes across Swindon every day, helping them stay independent, safe and comfortable — not managing a service from behind a desk.
Some visits are practical: washing, dressing, meal preparation, medication prompts. Others are just about showing up and being someone to talk to. Both matter equally, and we expect the same care and attention on a fifteen-minute call as a longer one.
A formal care qualification isn't required, but we're looking for candidates with at least 6 months' recent experience in a care or similarly people-facing role. Full training is provided on top of that, with new starters paired with experienced carers early on.
What you'll own
Washing, dressing, mobility support and medication prompts, delivered with dignity and at the client's own pace, not rushed to fit a schedule.
Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and the everyday tasks that let someone keep living independently in their own home.
Real conversation, not just a checklist. For some clients, your visit is the only company they'll have that day.
Spotting when something's wrong and knowing how to raise it — every client treated with the same respect and privacy you'd want for your own family.
What we need
Before you apply
Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and relevant experience
Able to work the shift patterns required, including evenings and weekends where needed
Able to travel to and between visits across Swindon using your own transport or another reliable means
Minimum 6 months' recent care experience; full training and induction provided on top of that
Apply
CVs must be uploaded as a PDF or Word document (.doc/.docx), up to 5MB. By applying, you confirm you have the right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship, and that you're willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
CQCJOBS places CQC-ready candidates across the full spectrum of regulated care — Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Nurses, Care Assistants and support staff — into domiciliary care, care homes, supported living, residential and nursing settings, and other CQC-regulated services across the UK. We understand the pressure behind every hire: a Registered Manager needs genuine CQC accountability experience, a Nurse needs the right clinical registration and competencies, and a Care Assistant needs patience and reliability no CV alone can prove. Every candidate we put forward is screened against your specific requirements, not just matched by job title. Whether you're filling a Home Manager, Clinical Lead or frontline support role, or want a pipeline of vetted candidates ready before you need them, get in touch — message us on WhatsApp and we'll talk through what you need.
