The role

Real care, in real homes.

This is hands-on work. You'll be in and out of people's homes across Swindon every day, helping them stay independent, safe and comfortable — not managing a service from behind a desk.

Some visits are practical: washing, dressing, meal preparation, medication prompts. Others are just about showing up and being someone to talk to. Both matter equally, and we expect the same care and attention on a fifteen-minute call as a longer one.

A formal care qualification isn't required, but we're looking for candidates with at least 6 months' recent experience in a care or similarly people-facing role. Full training is provided on top of that, with new starters paired with experienced carers early on.

What you'll own

Four things, done properly.

Personal care

Washing, dressing, mobility support and medication prompts, delivered with dignity and at the client's own pace, not rushed to fit a schedule.

Daily living support

Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and the everyday tasks that let someone keep living independently in their own home.

Companionship

Real conversation, not just a checklist. For some clients, your visit is the only company they'll have that day.

Safeguarding & dignity

Spotting when something's wrong and knowing how to raise it — every client treated with the same respect and privacy you'd want for your own family.

What we need

Patience matters more than paperwork.

Essential

Minimum 6 months' recent experience in care or a similarly people-facing role
A genuine interest in people, and patience to match
Reliable and punctual — clients count on visits happening when arranged
Able to travel to and between visits across Swindon and the surrounding area
Comfortable with personal care tasks (washing, dressing, mobility support)
Good communication, both with clients and the office team

Desirable

Experience supporting people with dementia, stroke recovery or chronic conditions
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
